MES K-factor transformers are designed to reduce the heating effects of harmonic currents created by non-linear loads. These harmonic currents causes overheating issues in the cable and induction motors, and increasing the losses in the transformers.

These transformers are capable of withstand the harmonic currents without exceeding the temperature rating of the insulation system. They also compensate for stresses on a transformer’s winding insulation which prevents insulation breakdown and premature failure.
